Mr. Topley is an incoming Managing Director and Head of Capital Formation of Butterfly. In this role, Mr. Topley oversees fundraising and investor relations efforts of the Firm.
Prior to his role with Butterfly, Mr. Topley was CEO of GBL Capital, the private investment arm of family-backed European investment holding company Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL). Previously, Mr. Topley spent 7 years with Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan as a managing director of the Private Capital division, responsible for European private equity fund investments. Mr. Topley also led European client management and investment research for StepStone Group in London. Earlier in his career, Mr. Topley spent time with Credit Suisse, Nomura and Sega.
Mr. Topley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College in London, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economics from University College in London, and an MBA degree from INSEAD.
