Mr. Patel is a Partner and Head of the Investment Team at Butterfly and is a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee. Mr. Patel has over 15 years of investing and finance experience, primarily in the food, consumer and healthcare sectors, and is responsible for deal origination, transaction diligence, execution and portfolio management for the Firm. Over the course of his career, Mr. Patel has been involved in over a dozen investments representing more than $14 billion in invested equity. Mr. Patel currently serves on the boards of ePac Flexible Packaging, The Duckhorn Portfolio, Rise Baking Company, Pete and Gerry’s Organics and Generous Brands.
Prior to joining Butterfly, Mr. Patel was a Managing Director on KKR’s North American Private Equity team, where he worked alongside Mr. Waglay, Mr. Prelle and Mr. Tang and helped lead investments across consumer, retail and healthcare. During his 13 years at KKR, he was involved in numerous consumer and food investments including US Foods (NYSE: USFD), Upfield, Cardenas Markets, Academy Sports + Outdoors (NASDAQ: ASO) and PetVet, as well as several healthcare investments including 123 Dentist, Biomet, PRA Life Sciences (NASDAQ: PRAH) and Therapy Brands. In several of these investments, Mr. Patel served as a board member. Earlier in his career, Mr. Patel worked at Moelis & Company, where he was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions and restructuring transactions.
Mr. Patel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
